Pier House opens waterfront terrace for Key West race week

Fans heading to this year's Key West World Championship will have a new vantage point over the water, with Pier House Resort & Spa signing on as a race week sponsor.

The resort's Sunset Terrace, perched directly over the water, is being opened up as a viewing spot for Race World Offshore's Powerboat Racing World Championship on Friday 6 November and Sunday 8 November. It offers unobstructed views of the course, no small thing for anyone who has tried to find a decent vantage point for offshore racing from shore before.

Pier House itself has been part of the Key West furniture for nearly 60 years, nestled between Old Town and the ocean. The resort has 119 guest rooms and 23 suites, three onsite restaurants and bars including the well known Chart Room, and sits directly on Duval Street, close enough that most of what Key West offers is walkable from the door.

"From the roar of the engines to the energy on the water, the World Championship is one of Key West's most exhilarating events," says Robert Spoto, Vice President/General Manager for Remington Hospitality. "Our Sunset Terrace puts fans right in the heart of the action, and we love the tradition of guests and new faces watching the race together year after year."

Tickets are handled through Yvonne Jan, Executive Assistant to the Vice President General Manager, on (305) 295-3201.
