Actionable Feedback Policy

GoBoating.nz values feedback from our readers and the wider boating community. This policy sets out how you can raise concerns or feedback about our journalism, and how we respond.

What you can raise

- A factual error in an article (see our Corrections Policy)

- A concern about fairness, balance, or tone in a piece of coverage

- A concern about the conduct of a GoBoating.nz journalist or contributor

- A complaint regarding a possible breach of our Ethics Policy or Editorial and Publishing Principles

- General feedback on our coverage or content

How to raise it

Send your feedback to editor@goboating.nz with as much detail as possible, including links to the relevant article where applicable.

For matters requiring escalation beyond editorial, including copyright and formal complaints, contact orienta.maris@goboating.nz directly.

What happens next

1. We acknowledge genuine feedback and complaints as promptly as possible.

2. An editor reviews the substance of the complaint against the relevant policy.

3. Where action is warranted, whether a correction, a clarification, a right of reply, or an internal conduct matter, we act on it.

4. We advise the person who raised the concern of the outcome, where appropriate.

Our commitment

We treat all genuine feedback as an opportunity to improve. Feedback will never result in a reader being ignored or dismissed without consideration, and we do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a good-faith concern.
