NEON 2.5, a software update for Zeus S, Zeus S Ultrawide, Zeus SR and Zeus SRX multifunction displays, adds navigation tools aimed at cruising and racing sailors.
The update introduces a customisable Activity bar that can be fixed or hidden, and positioned at the top, right or bottom of the screen. A new "What if?" feature allows sailors to simulate conditions for upcoming legs, manually adjusting wind and tide data to test sail selection and approach decisions before committing.
A Sailing Panel overlay now displays time, distance and sailing data directly on the chart view when navigating to waypoints. For the SR and SRX models, PredictWind integration brings marine forecasts, weather layers and automated weather routing—though weather routing requires a subscription and internet connection.
Racing-specific improvements include simplified start line setup using range and bearing, and an updated Measure tool that allows waypoint placement by range and bearing—useful when race marks are temporary inflatables positioned by the race officer.
The update is available via download or over-the-air for internet-connected units.
