GX Superyachts' debut GX42 enters final outfitting ahead of Monaco launch

The first yacht from new builder GX Superyachts is approaching completion, with the 42-metre GX42 now in its final outfitting phase ahead of a summer launch.

New images show the low-profile superyacht emerging from scaffolding at the yard, with furniture and joinery largely complete in the lower deck guest accommodation and bathrooms. Work is now focused on the owner's suite on the main deck and the spacious saloon that forms the yacht's social centre.

On the sun deck, teak decking is installed and awaiting final caulking. Furniture, sofas, tables and a large Jacuzzi are still to be fitted. Electronic and electrical installation is under way in the wheelhouse.

"Build progress for the GX42 is right on target," said Maurizio Magri, Chief Commercial Officer at GX Superyachts. "Ahead of a summer launch, we are entering the exciting final phase of detailed interior fit out, which means that we can finally see the finished yacht coming to life."

The interior, designed by Marco Casali, uses natural tones and materials including walnut panelling, white leather, lacquer and Italian fabrics. Casali described the project as "a real manifesto for quality" and said seeing the design take tangible form was "deeply satisfying."

The GX42 is scheduled for her worldwide debut at the Monaco Yacht Show from 25–28 September. The yacht will spend her first season in the western Mediterranean.

The GX42 is the first hull to emerge from GX Superyachts, a builder that has also begun work on two smaller models, the Voyager 38 and Voyager 45, and has a GX35 and GX50 on its drawing boards as it builds out the range.
