Tom Slingsby and the BONDS Flying Roos sealed the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix event final in a result that went down to the wire, pushing Emirates GBR hard across the line before Chief Umpire Craig Mitchell was called upon to rule on a collision during the final leg before the victory could be confirmed. Australia have now won every event final of the SailGP Season 6 campaign.
The win extended the BONDS Flying Roos' lead at the top of the season standings. They now sit on 55 points, 11 ahead of Emirates GBR on 44, with the U.S. SailGP Team third on 38 after putting together one of the most consistent runs of the season.

RULE 14 HEARING: RACE 3 START INCIDENT
A Rule 14 hearing was convened by the umpires following the multi-boat collision at the Race 3 start. The panel found that the incident involving Brazil, Italy, and USA had caused serious damage and that penalties were warranted. USA received a 7-point penalty, Italy a 4-point penalty, and Brazil no penalty. The umpires also looked at a separate matter from late in Race 3, where contact between Emirates GBR and the BONDS Flying Roos at the final mark had prompted protests from both the Australian and British camps. After deliberation, no penalty was issued for that incident.

Every team arrived at Day 2 of the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix with a clean slate. Organisers had reviewed the disrupted Day 1 programme and decided it would be unfair to carry results generated by a reduced three-boat fleet into the championship standings, so the scoreboard was reset to zero.
The previous day had come down to a contest between Emirates GBR, Los Gallos Spain, and Team USA after high winds stopped crane operations and prevented the rest of the F50 fleet from launching. Spain had won two of those races and GBR one, but none of those results counted toward the championship. With lighter conditions expected on Day 2, the full fleet was set to return, three races were scheduled, and all championship points were available.

The opening day of the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix was shaped by the weather. Strong winds halted crane operations before the full fleet could be put on the water, and SailGP confirmed a reduced fleet would compete, with teams chosen by championship standing and a modified points structure put in place for the smaller field. Racing was pushed back by roughly an hour.
Race 1 was a two-boat affair, with only Spain and Emirates GBR on the eight-mark East River course. GBR led at every mark and crossed the line first, registering a top speed of 97.3 km/h, with Spain finishing second.
USA joined the programme for Race 2, bringing the fleet to three. The American crew largely used the race to familiarise themselves with the course, leaving Spain and GBR to fight it out at the front. Spain won, with GBR in second.
Race 3 produced a commanding performance from Los Gallos, described by observers as a masterclass, and Spain swept the race to claim the Day 1 standings. Their four-point total put them clear of Dylan Fletcher's Emirates GBR crew on three, while USA ended on zero. The remaining ten teams had yet to take to the water.
