First State Bank is the official sponsor of the World's Fastest Boat Parade

Hometown bank backs Key West's fastest boat parade

First State Bank, the Florida Keys' hometown bank since 1955, has signed on as official sponsor of the World's Fastest Boat Parade, held as part of the Key West World Championships on Sunday, November 2nd.

The bank opened its doors in 1955 with a single branch in Key West and a handful of staff. Seventy years on, it operates from Key West to Key Largo and remains the oldest bank in Monroe County.

Despite that history, the bank says its online and mobile banking, through the KeysBank app, is built to match the convenience customers expect from larger national players.

First State Bank describes its point of difference as its people, tellers through to its president, all positioned as locals who know the community and the customers they serve. Whether a Conch, a snowbird, or a newer arrival to the Keys, the bank is positioning itself as the hometown option for Keys residents' banking needs.

There's no racing news here as such: no results, no standings, no technical changes to raceboats. But sponsorship announcements like this matter to the broader picture around the Key West World Championships.

Staging a public spectacle on the scale of the World's Fastest Boat Parade depends on local business support. First State Bank joins a growing list of Keys businesses lending their name to the 2026 championships, from the tents and generators supplied by Four Star Rentals in the pits at Truman Waterfront Park to the on-water viewing arranged by Fury Water Adventures at the race turns.

New Zealand followers of offshore powerboat racing will recognise the pattern. Local sponsors backing international-calibre events is a familiar story on this side of the Pacific too, where Kiwi teams and backers have long played their part in keeping the sport competitive on the world stage.

The parade takes place on November 2nd, alongside the wider Key West World Championships programme, which runs from November 1 to 8, 2026.
