Tunaskin Aquatic Apparel has been named Official Apparel of the 2023 Key West World Championships, extending a long-standing link with the Race World Offshore circuit. For a series that spends most of its race days under brutal sun and sea spray, the partnership makes sense.
The brand builds UPF sun protection and performance gear aimed at fishing, coastal adventures, and the kind of all-day exposure that comes standard with offshore racing. Crews and spectators alike know the drill: long hours on open water, little shade, and gear that either holds up or doesn't.
Tunaskin's story starts 30 miles off the Florida Keys. That's where the idea for the brand took shape, before it was formally founded in Southwest Florida in 2009.
The company opened a bricks-and-mortar store on Duval Street in Key West in 2017. The mission has stayed consistent since: performance apparel built to help people get through what the brand calls a "crazy good day" on the water.
Sun protection remains the core of the range, with UPF clothing designed specifically for extended time at sea. The Echo Collection pushes further on sustainability, with shirts engineered using Repreve and made from recycled materials rather than virgin fabric.
There's a community element too. Tunaskin's Beach Keepers Club began in 2016 as a beach clean-up initiative, and it has continued alongside the apparel side of the business.
For a brand whose products exist because of ocean conditions, the clean-up effort reads as a logical extension rather than a bolted-on marketing exercise.
The range covers men's, women's, and kids' apparel, along with headwear and accessories, with new arrivals added regularly. The Key West store sits at 604 Duval Street, open 10am to 9pm, with the full range also available through tunaskin.co.
