Black Foils unchanged for Dubai as Swiss shuffle, US left guessing

4 min read

SailGP teams have confirmed their crew lists ahead of Dubai, with Switzerland making the most notable change on the grid and the United States still without a named driver.

Wing trimmer Arnaud Psarofaghis has been named reserve for the event, with grinder Arno de Planta stepping into his spot alongside driver Sebastien Schneiter. Reserve sailor Nils Theuninck slots into de Planta's old grinding role.

The United States, meanwhile, have yet to resolve their biggest headache. Taylor Canfield's injury has left a hole at the front of the boat, and for now the team's entry simply reads TBC.

New Zealand interest remains firmly with the Black Foils. Peter Burling continues as driver with Blair Tuke on the wing, Leo Takahashi on flight control, Marcus Hansen and Stuart Dodson grinding, and Liv Mackay as strategist. Kate Stewart is named reserve, with Matt Stevens as head coach and William McKenzie running the coach booth.

Kiwi sailors also feature elsewhere in the fleet. Sam Meech is coaching Artemis, while Andy Maloney continues as the team's flight controller.

Mubadala Brazil have brought in British Olympian Hugh Styles as a coach for the regatta, and shifted Kahena Kunze into the strategist role.

Germany by Deutsche Bank have added Tom Burton as a coach, while Emirates GBR have brought in Jemima Line as reserve strategist. Both are changes from the previous event.
