VESSEL & ALL PEOPLE FOUND: All six men found alive after Fiji Lau Group search

1 min read

The six men reported missing in Fiji's Lau Group yesterday have been found alive and well.

Carla Gregory who is currently cruising in Fiji, confirmed the news on Saturday — the six men from Fulaga who had been drifting were located safe. The update came via Viki Moore of Island Cruising, who is on the ground in Fiji and has been relaying information as it came to hand.

A foreign-flagged yacht anchored at Yagasa also played a part in the search. Responding to a request from MSRCC, the crew put to sea in very rough conditions to search the waters between Yagasa and Namuka.

Search and rescue crews are searching for six people after a boat disappeared between Namuka and Fulaga in Fiji's Lau Group.

The men were aboard a white half-cabin fibreglass boat powered by a 40 hp outboard that failed to arrive at Fulaga after departing Namuka Island on the morning of Thursday, 6 August. Two other boats that left at the same time completed the journey safely.
