Emirates Team New Zealand has claimed the Orbit World Travel Sailor of the Year award for 2025, taking the top honour at the Barfoot & Thompson Yachting Excellence Awards on Friday night.
The evening also marked a significant moment for New Zealand sailing, with the introduction of the inaugural Peter Lester Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sailing, created in memory of the much-loved sailor, coach, and commentator.
