Over 130 people attended the Women in Marine Panel and Networking Event at this year's Southampton International Boat Show, making it the biggest Women in Marine event to date. Held on Wednesday 24 September, the annual event was sponsored by DF Capital, LA Marine and Haven Knox-Johnston.

The session took place at the Quarterdeck Bar & Restaurant, overlooking the show's purpose-built marina, and brought together women and men from across the marine industry for panel discussion, conversation, and networking.

Lesley Robinson, CEO of British Marine, opened proceedings, thanking the event's sponsors before introducing Charlie Scott, Major Gifts Associate from Room to Read, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality. Scott shared details of the charity's work supporting girls' education and life skills, accompanied by a short film illustrating the programme's impact.

Women in Marine expressed its support for the initiative, alongside its sister event, Women in the Marine Industry International, which takes place at Metstrade in November.
