The start of The Ocean Race Atlantic has been delayed, with Race Management confirming the fleet will not get away before 0800 EDT / 1200 UTC / 1400 CEST on Wednesday 2 September.
The boats made slow progress clearing New York Harbour and the designated "go slow" zones, areas set up to reduce the risk of collisions with marine mammals and other megafauna. With those restrictions in force, it soon became clear the fleet would not reach the start line in time.
The Ocean Race Atlantic will stream the start live on Wednesday via its YouTube channel, feeding straight into the first of the daily OnBoard Live shows, which kicks off at 1100 EDT / 1500 UTC / 1700 CEST.
