The Zparq Z10, a Swedish-built electric outboard billed as the world's lightest 10kW unit, will make its UK debut at the Southampton International Boat Show on the Electric Outboard stand at L122.
At just 15.2kg plus its mounting bracket, the Z10 is remarkably light for its power output. The trick lies in a patented system called Hyperflow Cooling, which uses the surrounding water to cool the motor rather than the bulky cooling hardware conventional electric outboards rely on. Electric Outboard says this gives the motor a compact, lightweight build with few moving parts and minimal maintenance.
Algie Bennett, founder and owner of Electric Outboard, says the Z10 marks a shift in the segment. "The introduction of the Z10 to the market represents a step change in the continuing development of electric propulsion systems," he says. "The Hyperflow Cooling TM is hugely innovative. We've seen increasing interest from customers wanting an electric outboard motor that can pack a punch in a lightweight, compact package."
Bennett is equally keen on the battery setup. "Portability is absolutely key, and it's not just the Z10 motor that ticks the box. The lightweight batteries consist of two battery packs and their ergonomic design makes them incredibly easy to hold and carry in case charging isn't available at the dock."
The Z10 also comes with built-in electric tilt and trim, a companion mobile app with smart features, and the ability to combine multiple battery packs to extend range.
The Zparq Z10 will be on display on the Electric Outboard stand L122 in Lake Park, and will be available in the UK from early 2027.
