Turkey's VISIONF Yachts has handed over its second 24 metre all-electric catamaran, Gloriamaris, continuing the shipyard's push toward clean and future-focused yachting. Constructed from lightweight carbon fibre at the company's state-of-the-art Tuzla facility, the vessel represents another step forward in VISIONF's commitment to efficient, low-impact boating.
The exterior was penned by Marco Casali of TOO Design, whose contemporary lines give Gloriamaris a sleek, purposeful profile well suited to her role as both a family yacht and a long-range adventure platform. From the earliest stages of the project, the owner specified the boat for low-impact, extended cruising, and a series of bespoke upgrades ensures she is genuinely equipped for exactly that.
As a semi-custom platform, the E Cat 80 lends itself to a high degree of personalisation, and this second unit takes full advantage of that flexibility. Perhaps the most distinctive addition is a dedicated music room on the flybridge, complete with piano and harp, creating a quiet creative space above the water. Extra solar panels were also added to the specification, trimming generator hours and extending the time the yacht can cruise or lie at anchor running purely on electric power.
The owner's passion for diving shaped another significant customisation. A purpose-built dive cabinet stows tanks securely and connects directly to a high-capacity air and nitrox compressor, allowing fast refills without any dependence on shore facilities. The system is conceived with remote destinations in mind and will underpin an ambitious exploration programme.
Owner Gregg Hamann, who previously cruised on a 50 foot sailing catamaran, was direct about his ambitions for Gloriamaris. "I expect to use this boat as an adventure boat," he said. "Summers in the Med, winters in the Red Sea. Beyond that, I want to take it further afield into the Indian Ocean. One reason I went bigger was to reach very remote places, and this platform makes that possible."
Family life aboard was equally central to the brief. The yacht features a dedicated kids' room, a flybridge jacuzzi, and activity areas designed to ease younger guests into life on the water, including learning to dive.
At 23.97 metres in length with a beam of 10.92 metres, Gloriamaris comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests. The interior strikes a note of warm minimalism, pairing neutral tones with premium vinyl woods and marble detailing. The layout can be arranged with four to six staterooms depending on whether the yacht is used privately or put to work on charter.
The propulsion system pairs twin Danfoss 180 kW electric motors with 63 solar panels capable of generating up to 25.2 kW per hour, allowing Gloriamaris to cruise at six to eight knots with very little generator input. In favourable conditions, solar regeneration effectively removes any ceiling on low-speed endurance. When longer passages demand it, twin 150 kW generators and a five tonne fuel reserve give the yacht a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles.
With a winter voyage to the Red Sea already planned, Gloriamaris is set to do exactly what VISIONF built her to do: cruise quietly, efficiently, and far from the beaten track.
