Visa and Nexi have signed on as Official Sponsors of Luna Rossa, bolstering the Italian team's war chest as it builds towards the 38th America's Cup in Naples in 2027.

Visa is a global leader in digital payments, while Nexi describes itself as Europe's leading PayTech. Both now join the Luna Rossa campaign under a partnership the team says centres on technological innovation, performance and teamwork.

The Visa and Nexi logos already appeared on the AC40 during the Naples Preliminary Regatta. Under the new deal they will carry through to the AC75 and onto team uniforms for the full 2027 season.

Luna Rossa boss Max Sirena said the partnership goes beyond branding.

"In a competition like the America's Cup, where a fraction of a second can mean the difference between victory and defeat and everything must work in perfect sync, safety, reliability, and speed are absolute priorities," said Sirena, CEO of Luna Rossa. "We are delighted to have Visa and Nexi on board for this campaign. Both are outstanding companies that, while operating in different fields, share our needs and face similar challenges with expertise, professionalism, and a strong team spirit."

Visa's regional marketing chief drew a direct line between high-performance sailing and high-performance payments.

"We are proud to support Luna Rossa in the 38th America's Cup," said Serena Di Matteo, Senior Director Marketing Southern Europe, Visa. "This partnership is rooted in shared values that are central to our everyday work: innovation, speed, security, reliability, and the ability to work together to achieve ambitious goals. Just as in high-performance sailing, in digital payments, success comes from bringing together different areas of expertise and working as a team to deliver increasingly simple, secure, and reliable experiences."

Nexi, for its part, framed the sponsorship as a vote of confidence in Italian sporting ambition on the world stage.

"Joining Visa in supporting Luna Rossa in a global competition like the 38th America's Cup means backing an Italian team capable of competing at the highest international level," said Erika Fattori, Group Brand & Marketing Communication Director at Nexi. "This partnership is built on shared values: leadership, innovation, performance, trust, and teamwork. These same principles guide Nexi's work every day as we help build an increasingly secure, innovative, and reliable payments ecosystem. We are proud to support an Italian team that showcases our country's ability to combine expertise, technology, and teamwork to achieve excellence on the world stage."
