Victron's newest battery release, the Lithium SuperPack NG, has been engineered with a single priority in mind: making the move from lead-acid to lithium as straightforward as possible, whether that means fitting out a brand-new vessel or upgrading an existing one.
The plug-and-play philosophy at the core of the SuperPack NG distinguishes it from more complex lithium installations. A Battery Management System comes built in, alongside integrated heating that keeps charging viable even when temperatures fall below zero. A physical on/off switch takes the complication out of off-season storage, removing any need to disconnect or pull the battery at all. Owners and skippers can keep onboard systems running with minimal intervention right across the year.
Bulk and space constraints have long been a sticking point for anyone considering a move away from traditional battery banks, and the SuperPack NG takes direct aim at that challenge. Its continuous peak power delivery reduces the total number of cells required, and the compact form factor opens up installation locations that would not previously have been practical. Fitting beneath a passenger seat or slotting into otherwise wasted corners of a hull becomes entirely workable, bringing lithium power within reach for a far wider range of vessels.
The marine environment places serious demands on any electrical component, and Victron has built protection in at several levels. A bi-directional e-switch guards against unnecessary shutdowns, while an over-pressure vent adds a further safety layer. The feature set also includes continuous 2C peak current capability, a configurable discharge floor, an external feedback signal, and an LED status indicator that gives users an at-a-glance read on the battery's condition.
Remote monitoring has been factored in as well. Via the VictronConnect app, users can check State of Charge and adjust settings from a phone or tablet, wherever they are on board.
Voltage configurations cover 12V, 24V and 48V, catering to a broad variety of vessel types and electrical setups.
