World Sailing has named the senior race officials who will run the 2028 Olympic Sailing Competition, confirming the people responsible for jury decisions, umpiring, race management and equipment checks at LA28.
Ana Sanchez Del Campo of Spain keeps the top job in the jury room. She chaired the International Jury at Paris 2024 and will do the same at LA28, overseeing the correct application of the Racing Rules of Sailing to keep the racing fair.
Ireland's Chris Lindsay steps up as Chief Umpire. He chairs World Sailing's International Umpires Sub-Committee and served on the jury at Paris 2024. Lindsay was also among the first digital ITOs World Sailing appointed at an Olympics, back at Tokyo 2020.
Race management falls to Corinne Aubert of France, who takes the Principal Race Officer role. She was a race management ITO at Tokyo 2020 and worked nationally as Course Race Officer at Paris 2024. At LA28 she will lead a team of Course Representatives running the racing for each Olympic event, backed by additional International Race Officers.
On the technical side, two chairs will run separate committees at the two venues. Bas Edmonds of Great Britain, a specialist in board measurement with Paris 2024 experience, chairs the Technical Committee at Long Beach. Dimitris Dimou of Greece, current chair of World Sailing's Equipment Rules Sub-Committee and previously Technical Committee chair at Tokyo 2020, takes the equivalent post at the Port of LA.
Each will lead a committee of International Measurers with expertise specific to the Olympic equipment raced at their venue, their job to ensure every boat complies with its class-specific rules.

Each appointee brings extensive Olympic experience across race management, umpiring, jury leadership, and technical inspection. We are confident their collective expertise will ensure World Sailing delivers an exceptional regatta in close partnership with LA28 and the IOC."
David Graham, World Sailing CEO, framed the announcement as the next step after the Technical Delegate appointments made earlier this year. "Following our Technical Delegate appointments, these Race Official selections will lead our event management team for LA28. These appointments bring strong Olympic pedigree to LA28. From jury and race management to technical committee oversight, this team has the skills and experience to deliver an exceptional Olympic regatta."
These appointments add to the two Technical Delegate positions approved by the World Sailing Board in June. The remaining Technical Official positions, including Vice-Chairs, will be announced in due course.
The Olympic Sailing Competition at LA28 runs from 14 to 30 July 2028, staged across Belmont Shore in the venue city of Long Beach and the Port of Los Angeles in the host city of Los Angeles.
