Ventura Series takes third major design award of 2026 with Red Dot win

The Ventura Series from Scanstrut has picked up a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, adding to a string of international design honours the range has collected this year.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design has been running since 1955 and is judged annually by an independent international panel assessing entries across innovation, functionality, sustainability and longevity. The jury recognised the Ventura Series for its design quality, combining engineering, intuitive functionality and a cohesive aesthetic.

Designed for RV, van conversion and overland vehicle manufacturers, the Ventura Series is a range of exterior utility inlets and outlets covering 12V power, USB-C charging, solar, water, TV and mains connections. All variants share standardised cut-out dimensions and a low-profile form factor, aimed at simplifying installation in production environments.

Units carry IP68 and IP69K waterproof ratings, covering full dust ingress protection along with resistance to heavy rain and high-pressure washdowns. Lids are spring-loaded with a click-shut close and a 90-degree hold-open position. Hardware is marine-grade 316 stainless steel, and the materials are UV-resistant for extended outdoor exposure.

The Red Dot result is the third major design award the Ventura Series has received in 2026. It also holds the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 and took first place in the Equipment Design category at the European Innovation Awards 2026, presented at CMT Stuttgart.

"Winning the Red Dot Award is a significant achievement for our team and a powerful validation of our commitment to design-led innovation," said George, Head of Design at Scanstrut. "The Ventura Series represents a new chapter for Scanstrut as we expand into the RV and overland sector, and to receive this level of global recognition is incredibly rewarding."
