One of New England's most storied offshore regattas produced strong results for Beneteau at its 55th running over Memorial Day weekend. Fourteen Beneteau yachts competed across six divisions in both Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker classes, taking three podium finishes and four top-five results from the crossing between Hyannis and Nantucket.
Race Committee PRO Andrew Seguin split the 108-boat fleet across two courses to handle the wide range of competitors. Spinnaker-class boats rated below PHRF 91, along with the multihull fleet, ran Course 5 at 25.4 nautical miles, while the remaining fleet took the straight-line Course 1 at 19.5 nautical miles. Light easterly winds of 6 to 14 knots greeted competitors, building toward Nantucket, and some crews went left of the rhumb line chasing a southerly shift that never fully arrived.
All three Beneteau podium finishes were second places. Phoenix, a First 36.7 skippered by Dan Fellows, took second in Division 3 Spinnaker in one of the regatta's standout performances. Saylavee, a Beneteau 31.1, claimed second in Division 11 Non-Spinnaker, and Summer Wind, a Beneteau 45, finished second in Division 7 Non-Spinnaker.
The Spinnaker fleet saw further solid results from First 36.7s Agora and Belle, while Division 2 featured two First 40.7s, Bamboozler and More Cowbell, alongside First 36 Ruse. Models across the full fleet ranged from the First 36 through to the Oceanis 46.1, taking in the Oceanis 38.1, 41.1, 42.3, and 45.
FIGAWI, organised by FIGAWI Charities, has run each Memorial Day weekend since 1972, growing into one of the Northeast's premier offshore regattas. Its divisions span high-performance racing yachts through to family cruising boats, which made the spread of Beneteau results across 2026's fleet particularly notable.
