Club Nautique Morgien has won Act III of the Swiss J/70 Super League on Lake Davos, taking the regatta title by a slender three points in a fleet where the entire podium was separated by the same margin.
Sixteen teams and nearly 100 sailors contested fourteen races over the three-day event, hosted by the Segel-und Surfclub Davos. The racing lived up to the lake's reputation for shifty, unpredictable wind, and the team that read those shifts best came out on top.
Club Nautique Morgien, skippered by Sam Kivell with Louis Buxtorf, Celia Willison and Gregoire Siegwart aboard, won on 41 points.
Segelclub Stafa took silver on 44 points, sailed by skipper Simon Kaiser alongside Ben Tresky, Carlos Biber and Nicolasa Kubat. Bronze went to the consistent Regattaclub Bodensee crew of skipper Julian Flessati, Lea Ruegg, Stephan Ammann and Rene Ott, finishing on 46 points.
Fourth and fifth were decided by a tiebreaker. Club Nautique de Versoix, skippered by Victor Casas, edged out Yacht Club Bielersee under Damian Suri, both finishing on 47 points.
The result has reshuffled the overall Swiss J/70 Super League standings. Club Nautique de Versoix had led the series coming into Davos but could only manage fourth on the water, dropping them to fourth overall as well. Regattaclub Bodensee's podium finish was enough to send them to the top of the season standings, with the series finale just three weeks away.
