A moderate south to southwest breeze had the fleet charging at hull speed on a tight reach towards North Head, with Lucky (USA 2872) making a great sight as she sheeted on her enormous headsail and surged past the TP52s.
Wired nailed the start, crossing the line with plenty of speed and pulling clear of the fleet from the outset.
Conditions were beautiful, with bright sunshine spilling across the water as a vivid parade of colourful spinnakers and gennakers headed off into the distance.
