“We signed up as the first build. The team at Motor Yacht Services in New Zealand handled everything, travelling across the Tasman several times during construction. When the yacht arrived, she was flawless. That speaks to how well the project was managed.”
Construction unfolded during the considerable disruptions of the pandemic, yet the process held together well throughout. That outcome spoke to Maritimo's disciplined approach to engineering and to the thoroughness the owners brought to their own planning.
Privacy was the governing principle from the outset. Many yachts of this size are designed around the assumption that professional crew will manage the complexity. Talisman takes the opposite position. Every system, every control, every automated function was configured with two people in mind. Intuitive layouts and thoughtful engineering mean the boat asks very little of those aboard while delivering a great deal.
Twin 1650 hp MTU engines give Talisman genuine pace, with a top speed of 30 knots available when needed. In practice, the owners prefer to cruise at 9 to 10 knots, the range where efficiency and tranquillity find each other. A Mastervolt lithium battery bank takes care of overnight air conditioning and runs one gyro throughout the night without requiring the generator to turn over.
