The Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race opens the offshore season, and entries close this Friday, 10 July. If you haven't entered yet, now's the time.
Several rule and procedural changes are in place before campaigns get underway. Entry deadlines have shifted: entries now close two Mondays before each race date. Pointscore entries must be completed before the Flinders Islet Race, so late registration isn't an option.
On the water, boats must regularly monitor their satellite phone while racing. The Tollgate Islands Race finish line will not be manned after 1600hrs on the Sunday following the race start, and boats finishing after that time will need to complete a declaration per the Sailing Instructions.
The Wild Rose Pointscore now requires a minimum of 30% female crew.
Updates to the AS Special Regulations are also in effect, covering marine radio specifications and testing interpretation alongside broader amendments. Full details are available through the sailing office.
