The British yacht builder has appointed an experienced finance executive as Scott Millar strengthens his leadership team following July's ownership restructuring.

Sunseeker International has appointed Daren Morris as chief financial officer, replacing Dean Lawler as the British yacht builder rebuilds its senior leadership following July's ownership restructuring.

Morris brings more than 30 years of financial experience, including senior positions at UBS Investment Bank and Morgan Stanley. He subsequently served as CFO at Volex plc and Big Technologies plc, where he also held the interim chief executive position in 2025.

"I am delighted to be joining the business at such an important stage in its journey," Morris said in the company's announcement.

Morris joins chief executive Scott Millar, whose appointment was announced alongside Sunseeker's change of ownership. Investment firms Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital became the company's long term shareholders after an earlier proposed acquisition involving KCP Holdings failed to proceed. Millar had previously worked with Sunseeker through advisory firm Teneo, helping develop its five year strategic plan.

Lawler helped guide Sunseeker through its restructuring before his departure. Companies House records confirm his directorship ended on 14 October 2026.

"The period of uncertainty is behind us," Millar said.

The leadership changes coincide with significant yacht construction activity. In October, the first 40.45 metre Sunseeker 134 Superyacht arrived in Poole for interior fit out after completing initial construction in Portland. Testing is scheduled for April 2027, with delivery planned to an American owner.

Sunseeker is also developing its 45M Superyacht, unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, with construction scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2027.

Morris and Millar now lead a business preparing for its next stage of growth. The 134 is currently Sunseeker's largest yacht under construction, while the planned 45M will take the range further into the superyacht market. Both projects form part of the company's longer term strategy under its new shareholders, Cross Ocean Partners and Cheyne Capital.
