New Zealand's six-strong canoe sprint and paracanoe squad is competing at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Montreal, racing at Parc Jean-Drapeau's Olympic Basin in Québec from 9 to 12 July.
Aimee Fisher and Quaid Thompson are the most experienced of the group at this stage of the season, each contesting their third world cup of the year. Fisher lines up in both the women's K1 500m and K1 1000m, while Thompson races the men's K1 1000m and K1 5000m.
For Paralympian Scott Martlew, Montreal is his first international event of 2026. He competes in the men's KL2 200m.
The men's K4 500m has an alternate combination for New Zealand, with Kacey Ngataki, Kalani Gilbertson, Kaiha Gilbertson, and James Scott lining up together in Canada.
Day one racing for the Kiwis begins in the early hours of Friday 15 July (NZT). Fisher opens in the women's K1 1000m heat at 1.07am, followed by the K4 crew at 2.23am. Semifinals for both the women's K1 1000m and men's K4 500m are scheduled from 5.00am, before Fisher returns for her K1 500m heat at 8.41am and Thompson contests the men's K1 1000m heat at 9.05am. Martlew's KL2 200m heat is later in the day at 3.18pm.
