Constructed in Poland and preparing to launch this autumn, the Sialia 45 Sport has been engineered to feel equally at home in Fort Lauderdale, Saint-Tropez, or the Bay of Islands. Speed, range, and relaxed handling sit alongside a genuine focus on entertaining, producing a boat that is as much a social platform as it is a performance craft.
At 13.7 metres in length and with a draft of just 0.85 metres, the Sialia 45 Sport slips easily into quiet anchorages and marina berths that larger vessels simply cannot reach. Yet that modest footprint does not come at the cost of open-water capability. She carries enough power to make passages such as Auckland to Great Barrier, or Miami to the Bahamas, on a single charge.
Twin 300 kW electric motors sit at the heart of the package, delivering a cruising speed of 25 knots and a top speed of 43 knots. In pure electric configuration the Sialia 45 Sport offers more than 70 nautical miles of range, and with a range extender fitted that figure rises to 164 nautical miles, sufficient for a full day of exploration or a weekend run to more remote anchorages.
Recharging is equally impressive. The Sialia 45 carries 350 kW DC fast-charging capability, a specification that makes her the fastest-charging electric yacht on the market. She is also compatible with AC shore power at marinas throughout New Zealand, and integrated solar panels support onboard systems, cutting generator hours and reducing the boat's environmental footprint. The hull was developed by Swedish naval architects Petestep, producing a dry and comfortable ride while squeezing the most from available power. Carbon and glass construction keeps overall weight in check and performance crisp.
Two main deck layouts give buyers a meaningful choice about how they intend to use the boat. The Sandbar configuration takes a sportier approach, offering seating for six alongside an exterior galley, well suited to a quick getaway with friends. The Lounge layout leans toward family use, incorporating dedicated sunbathing space, benches for eight, an enlarged aft lounger, and a full dining table for meals in the open air. Below decks, accommodation can be configured to suit overnight passages, and the Sialia 45 Sport is rated to carry up to 12 guests during the day.
Buyers can also choose from three trim levels, Active, Plus, and Premium, to tailor materials and finishes to their taste. Three drivetrain options, Scout, Performance, and Range, allow further refinement depending on whether the priority is coastal day tripping, pure electric efficiency, or longer passages.
The decision to centre the range on a 45-foot hull was deliberate. "Opting for a 45-foot size allows for versatility and accessibility, fitting into most marinas and manageable for single operators," says Stanislav Szadkowski, founder and CEO of Sialia Yachts. That reasoning translates directly to the New Zealand context. A boat capable of fast electric cruising between Auckland and Waiheke, or picking through the coves of the Marlborough Sounds, holds obvious appeal for owners who want genuine adventure without dependence on traditional fuels.
Chief Commercial Officer Milvio Ricci frames the ambition in broader terms. "When she sets sail, she will not just join the world of electric yachting, she will redefine it."
