Sports Marine has turned its attention to two models from Sea Ray's bowrider range, the SPX 190 and the SPX 210, as the summer season approaches. Sea Ray is a brand with deep roots in the New Zealand market, having built its reputation over more than 40 years and shifted more than 2,000 boats nationwide. The SPX series carries that heritage forward through a straightforward formula: efficient hulls, layouts shaped around families, and propulsion you can depend on.
These are boats built to be used. Whether it's a morning on the harbour, an afternoon of watersports off the transom, or a coastal cruise with friends, the SPX 190 and SPX 210 are designed for enjoyment rather than admiration from the dock.
The SPX 190 measures 5.97 metres and brings a nimble, uncomplicated character to the water. Seating for ten gives it genuine versatility as a small-group cruiser, and the storage and layout details feel well thought through rather than squeezed in. It's the kind of boat that makes spontaneous outings easy, the sort you don't need a big occasion to justify launching.
Step up to the SPX 210 and you gain length, reaching 6.55 metres, along with capacity for up to twelve people and a handful of comfort upgrades that add to the experience without compromising the sporty feel. A deep freeboard offers reassurance when conditions turn choppy, while an extended cockpit and wraparound seating create a relaxed, social atmosphere on board.
Both models are available in sterndrive or outboard configurations, each producing around 250 hp.
