Marine gadgets and water toys step into the spotlight at SCIBS 2026

4 min read

Marine gadgets and high-tech water toys have been quietly claiming more floor space at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for several years, but the 2026 edition looks set to make that shift impossible to ignore. While the event has always turned heads with its parade of luxury motor yachts, a new generation of leisure innovations, from self-flying waterproof cameras to modular floating playgrounds, is reshaping what visitors come to see. Once regarded as niche extras, marine accessories are now becoming defining elements of Australia's evolving on-water culture, and SCIBS is reflecting that shift in a big way.

Here is a closer look at the exhibitors and innovations worth putting at the top of your list before you arrive.

Jobe Sports is bringing both all-new product releases and exclusive show-only promotions, special offers, and giveaways to this year's event. The centrepiece of their display is the Jobe Infinity Series of Inflatable Docks and Pools, a modular floating playground concept making its Australian debut at SCIBS. Compared with earlier Sea Pools, Seabob Stations, and similar products, the 2026 Infinity Series represents a meaningful step forward, offering refined shapes, improved stability, and a fully adaptable modular design. The range has been purpose-built with a wide audience in mind, including yacht owners, marina users, PWC and foil riders, charter operators, and families seeking a safe and comfortable space on the water.

Jobe will also be unveiling an exclusive collaboration with BRABUS Marine at the show. The Brabus x Jobe Shadow Seascooter is a sleek, self-floating device that pairs powerful electric propulsion with an integrated GoPro mount and three adjustable speed settings, topping out at 8.5km/h. It brings a distinctive sense of style and refined performance to underwater exploration.

JSW Powersports

Speed enthusiasts and fans of high-octane water adventures will find no shortage of reasons to stop at the JSW Powersports stand. Holding the title of the world's top Sea-Doo dealer for 14 years running, JSW arrives at SCIBS with considerable credentials. The new 2026 Sea-Doo GTI 130 platform will take centre stage, a versatile personal watercraft that balances fun-factor and fuel-efficiency with a high degree of personalisation, all built around a revolutionary onboard experience. Fishing enthusiasts will be equally well catered for, with the new FishPro Trophy Sea-Doo on display, loaded with exclusive features designed for those who truly live and breathe the sport. Visitors can also explore JSW's range of Sea-Bobs and Fliteboards while they're there.

Jetboard Australia

Jetboard Australia is arriving with a lineup squarely aimed at those who crave serious on-water adrenaline. Their range takes in jet-propelled surfboards, powerful jetboards, and state-of-the-art sea scooters, each engineered for performance, agility, and precise control. The boards are designed to suit riders at every level, whether carving waves or gliding across glassy lakes, combining advanced technology with the kind of rideability that makes them accessible to beginners and experienced riders alike. Visitors with an eye on sustainability will also find something to explore in Jetboard Australia's electric surfboard range, which delivers quieter, eco-friendly alternatives to petrol-powered models. The show will also host the official debut of the Parsun F300 Outboard motor, adding further reason to make this stand a priority.

HoverAir

HoverAir is making a bold claim about its flagship product at this year's show: AQUA, it says, is a world first. The device is a 100% waterproof self-flying camera built specifically for use on the water. Where conventional drones are kept well away from the surface, AQUA is designed to float, launch directly from the water, and land back on it without complications. AI subject tracking and 15 flight modes give the hands-free device genuine versatility, capturing high-quality footage of surfing, kayaking, paddling, and more. A buoyant body, a wearable armband-style Lighthouse controller, and gimbal-stabilised video complete a package that marks a genuine leap forward in water-based camera technology.

Floatables

Floatables grew out of a straightforward observation: as families expand, so does the demand for more aquatic real estate. Their range is focused on maximising fun, safety, and convenience, and SCIBS will see several products make their debut this year. The lineup includes all-new inflatable pontoons, next-generation docks, airshades, and the perennially popular water hammocks, each designed to extend a boat's footprint in a practical and versatile way. Floating trampolines will keep younger guests occupied for hours, large hammocks cater to group lounging and social gatherings, and aqua yoga mats offer something for those after a more mindful experience on the water.

Float Haven

Port Macquarie-based Float Haven has built its reputation on premium floating platforms that bring people together on the water, and the products they are bringing to SCIBS rank among their most exciting work yet. Their well-loved Sea Pool Floating Islands will feature prominently, but the headline news is the highly anticipated debut of the Shade Haven Canopy. Designed to attach directly to the Sea Pool Floating Islands, the canopy transforms the platform into a relaxed, shaded lounge space, giving users meaningful protection from the harsh Australian sun without compromising the open-water atmosphere. Whether anchored on a lake, a dam, or a river, it is a practical and stylish addition to any on-water setup.
