Scanstrut's wireless pole light ends corrosion woes, wins IBEX award

1 min read

Scanstrut's newly launched Wireless Powered Navigation Pole Light has won an IBEX 2026 Innovation Award in the Deck Equipment and Hardware category.

The light, known as Navlight, targets one of the most persistent faults in pole-mounted navigation lights: corroded metal-to-metal electrical connections. Rather than relying on plugs or exposed contacts, Scanstrut uses its SystemOne™ Wireless Technology to deliver power straight through a water-resistant mount, with the light simply dropping into place.

IBEX judge Tim Murphy said: "From time immemorial we've seen the crusty green results of corroded metal-to-metal connections on pole-mounted navigation lights. Results that too often lead to lights that fail just when boaters need them most. Scanstrut solves this problem with wireless power delivery and a nifty water-resistant mount, delivering a 2 nautical-mile light that promises to keep working long after traditional models would have failed."

Navlight is available in 600mm (24") and 1200mm (48") lengths, and operates as a 2 nautical-mile, all-round white navigation light.

Tom Reed, CEO of Scanstrut, said: "Our focus has always been on solving real boating problems through innovation, new thinking and original ideas. Navlight removes the common weaknesses found in traditional navigation lights, creating a simpler, more reliable solution for boaters everywhere. This award is fantastic recognition for the team and reinforces our commitment to developing innovative products that make life on the water safer and easier."
