Saxdor has started building boats in Florida and expanded its dealer network into Maine, Nova Scotia and Bermuda, eight months after Malibu Boats acquired the Finnish manufacturer.
Saxdor announced on 19 October that its first American-built 320 GTO had been completed at Malibu's Fort Pierce facility, with serial production now underway. The company followed on 2 November with three new dealer appointments. The smaller 270 GTO is scheduled to follow, with additional models planned for the US operation.
In Maine, Saxdor has partnered with Yarmouth Boat Yard and Moose Landing Marina, a combined operation representing both coastal and inland boating communities. The group already sells Pursuit Boats, another Malibu brand, making it Saxdor's first American dealer drawn from Malibu's existing network.
Across the border in Nova Scotia, Mahone Marine will handle Saxdor sales and service, bringing an established service operation and Mercury dealership. In Bermuda, PW Marine joins the network after more than 30 years in operation. The Hamilton-based business is part of the Waterfront Group, with marina, storage and servicing facilities.
The dealer expansion reveals how Saxdor intends to use Malibu's resources. The company has traditionally worked with MarineMax in the United States, and the two firms have agreed to introduce Malibu dealers only in regions where MarineMax does not already represent Saxdor.
Malibu acquired Saxdor for approximately €150 million in March 2026, adding the builder to a portfolio that includes Pursuit, Cobalt and its own watersports boats. The acquisition brought a leadership change in October, when chief executive Erna Rusi departed and Malibu's chief growth officer Eric Lindquist took over as interim chief executive.
Saxdor has not published dealer sales targets or expected order volumes. The commercial results of the investment are still to come.
The brand continues to be represented by Sports Marine in Auckland and Christchurch.
