The Route du Rhum village in Saint-Malo has reopened to the public from 2.30pm, after poor weather forced its closure earlier in the day.
Organisers say conditions have improved enough to allow the site to welcome back visitors, exhibitors and everyone involved in the event, with all necessary safety measures now in place.
It is not the first time this edition that officials have had to shut the gates. The village was previously closed as strong gusts forced a safety call before crowds poured back in once the wind eased, and again when forecasters flagged foul weather overnight and organisers kept the site closed despite a planned reopening.
No further details were given on what caused the morning closure. But the message from race officials was straightforward: the village is open again, and it is safe to be there.
