Off the back of a triumphant return after more than twenty years in abeyance, the Royal Ocean Racing Club has confirmed that the next Admiral's Cup will run from 15th to 30th July 2027, giving the international offshore racing community another date to circle firmly on the calendar.
The 2025 edition marked the competition's first outing since 2003, and the response from teams and supporters clearly surpassed expectations. For 2027, the RORC is anticipating a still larger international fleet, with sailors from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania already signalling their intention to compete, whether as returning nations or first-time participants in the celebrated event.
The 2027 schedule opens on Thursday 15th July with the first day of measurement and inspection, building through to the start of the Rolex Fastnet Race on Saturday 24th July. As in previous editions, the format combines inshore racing with offshore tests, placing comprehensive demands on every team's tactical judgement, endurance, and collective skill.
Admiral's Cup Race Director Steve Cole reflected on what the revival demonstrated about the competition's enduring appeal. "The 2025 Admiral's Cup marked a new chapter for this historic competition," he said. "The response from sailors, teams, and supporters was extraordinary. The passion, skill, and camaraderie on display proved that the Admiral's Cup remains the ultimate test of team racing in offshore sailing. In 2027, we intend to raise the bar even higher."
Among those who experienced the 2025 event at its highest level was Pierre Casiraghi, Vice President and skipper of the winning Yacht Club de Monaco team. "The Admiral's Cup is an extraordinary event, brilliantly organised and fiercely competitive," he said. "I'm so proud to have been part of it."
The Admiral's Cup has carried considerable weight in the offshore world since it was first contested in 1957, when it quickly earned a reputation as the unofficial world championship of the discipline. National pride sits at the heart of the format, with teams drawn from across the globe competing not just for personal glory but for their countries.
