The world premiere of Riviera's 5000 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition signals something more ambitious than a refresh. The Australian builder is calling it a completely reimagined design, and given the lineage it carries, that's a considerable statement.

The original 5000 Sport Yacht launched in 2009 and became one of Riviera's most celebrated models, finding buyers across Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the United States. A platform with that kind of reach sets a high bar to clear.

The Platinum Edition aims to advance what Riviera calls the Sport Yacht philosophy, pulling together performance, contemporary luxury and blue-water liveability into a single package.

Owner Rodney Longhurst has watched the builder evolve across four and a half decades. "Today, Riviera builds the most advanced motor yachts in our proud 46-year history," he said, "and this magnificent new 5000 Sport Yacht is the latest example."
