The 23rd Rolex Swan Cup concluded at Porto Cervo on 19 September with a record 170 Swan yachts and more than 1800 sailors marking Nautor Swan's 60th anniversary.
A final day of coastal racing in northeasterly winds building from eight to 12 knots saw fleets navigate from the Gulf of Arzachena around Caprera, Monaci Island and the Bisce Pass, with ClubSwan One Design classes completing two windward-leeward races on courses between Bisce Island and Monaci.
The Swan 90 Freya claimed the Swan Maxi title with a comeback victory, recovering from sixth in the opening race to win three consecutive races including the final coastal. The Swan 601 Arobas took Swan Mini-Maxi honours through consistent performance, while the Swan 45 From Now On secured Swan Cruiser Racer class with three straight wins.
In the Swan Legacy divisions, the 50-year-old Swan 65 Shirlaf won the Sparkman & Stephens ≥47' class after a tight duel with Elan, and the Swan 44 Pride took both the ≤44' division and overall Legacy victory. The Austrian Swan 651 Lunz am Meer dominated the Classics by Frers division, while the sole Ron Holland design present, the Swan 39 Katia, competed in the Ron Holland Legacy class. Black Zero (Swan 51) won Swan Pure Cruising and the Swan 78 Azzurro took Swan Maxi Pure Cruising with three consecutive wins.
ClubSwan One Design results saw Earlybird (ClubSwan 50) win with five victories from seven races, Team 42+1 (ClubSwan 43) dominate with six consecutive wins, and Nadir (ClubSwan 42) prevail after tying on 10 points with Pez de Abril, with the final race result breaking the deadlock. Cuordileone won ClubSwan 36 with four early race wins, while Anya Race took ClubSwan 28 by a single point after Black Swan won the final race.
On the morning of the final racing day, the Matteo Auguadro Memorial Award was presented to bowman Matteo Ramian, chosen by fellow bowmen. At the prize-giving, the Fabio Gallia Award was presented by Paul Cayard to Catherine Chabaud for her Vendée Globe achievement and ocean conservation work.
YCCS Commodore Andrea Recordati thanked Rolex and Nautor Swan for their long partnership and confirmed the 2028 edition will return to Porto Cervo.
