PredictWind has been confirmed as a supporting partner for the 2026 RORC Round Britain and Ireland Race, providing weather analysis tools and a significant equipment prize for one competing crew.
The partnership was announced during the RORC Crew Party at RORC Cowes, held during North Sails Cowes Week in support of the Griffin Pathway Project. PredictWind weather expert Lisa McDonald demonstrated the platform's capabilities to young sailors in the pathway programme, showing how forecast model comparison and weather interpretation several hours in advance can have a major influence on a boat's route and result.
The 1,805-nautical-mile non-stop race starts from Cowes on Sunday 9 August 2026. Competitors will face complex weather patterns across the English Channel, the exposed west coast of Ireland, Atlantic approaches to St Kilda and Muckle Flugga, and the complex final stages through the North Sea.
