Marine logistics specialist Pindar has signed a long-term strategic partnership with the Global Solo Challenge (GSC), becoming the solo offshore race's official logistics partner.
The agreement covers worldwide transport and logistics services for competitors before, during and after each edition of the event, including yacht transportation, customs management, shipping and equipment logistics.
The partnership also creates a dedicated competitor logistics programme, giving entrants a single point of contact for planning their campaigns from pre-race preparation through to post-race transport.
Both organisations say they will collaborate on initiatives to strengthen the event and support wider development of offshore sailing, with particular emphasis on creating pathways for young sailors and women progressing towards short-handed and solo ocean racing.
Andrew Pindar OBE DL said the Global Solo Challenge had "quickly established itself as one of the most exciting and accessible events in offshore sailing."
"Whilst logistics will naturally form an important part of our relationship, our shared ambitions extend much further," he said. "Together we want to create opportunities that support competitors, strengthen the event and help develop the future of offshore sailing for generations to come."
GSC organiser Marco Nannini said Pindar's expertise in global marine logistics and commitment to sailing development made them "the ideal long-term partner."
"This partnership is not simply about transporting boats; it is about working together to build an even stronger future for the Global Solo Challenge and offshore sailing as a whole," he said.
Pindar has worked in the marine industry for more than 40 years, offering yacht and boat transportation, professional sailing team logistics, customs and ATA carnet services, and expedition logistics.
