Oxford ended a ten-year wait in the Women's Boat Race, powering into an immediate lead over Cambridge and holding it to the finish line in rough and windy conditions.

Cambridge made a contest of it. Both coxes cut corners strategically down the course, and the result felt in the balance until the final few hundred metres.

For Annie Anezakis and Sarah Marshall, it was a first victory at the fourth attempt. For Lilli Freischem, Kyra Delray, and President Heidi Long, it was a reversal of last year's defeat.

In the reserve race, Osiris-Blondie went to the Light Blues, with Blondie winning by 9 lengths.
