Lake Centenary at Temora set the scene for a fitting season finale, with fine weather, a strong field, and championship stakes all combining to make Round 6 of the Penrite Oils V8 Superboats Championship one worth remembering. When the last jet wash settled on the 2025/2026 season, a single family name sat atop every class.
The Mullan family swept all three divisions. Phonsy Mullan claimed Unlimited honours in Ramjet, Bastian Mullan took Group A victory in ASP, and Nate Mullan topped the LS class in Ripshift. Three classes, three wins, one family on every podium that mattered.
Phonsy Mullan had the measure of the Unlimited field before the day was half done. He was the quickest competitor across all classes in every qualifying session, and his best lap of 16.582 seconds in Qualifying 4 translated to 238.8 km/h around the 1.1 km Temora circuit. Nobody came close to answering that benchmark. In the Top 3 Final he eased back to a 36.226, yet that was still more than 1.3 seconds clear of Tyler Finch in Loose Cannon, who crossed in 37.552. Daryl Hutton rounded out the Unlimited podium in R&J Batteries with a 38.488. The single fastest speed recorded across the entire event, 241.5 km/h, also belonged to Mullan, set during that final run.

While his father was making the Unlimited class look straightforward, Bastian Mullan was working through a more competitive Group A battle. Danny Knappick held the advantage through the first two qualifying rounds, but Bastian responded sharply in Qualifying 3, clocking a 39.840 in ASP to move to the front. He backed that up with pole in Qualifying 5 and delivered when it mattered most, his Top 3 Final time of 39.631 securing the round win. Knappick came home second in Tuff N Up with a 41.955, and Daniel Warburton completed the podium in Team Attitude at 44.147.

The LS class followed much the same pattern. Ripshift led the timing sheets through every qualifying session, and Nate Mullan ensured that pace carried through to the finals, taking first in the Top 6 Final before backing it up with a 40.564 to win the Top 3 Final outright. Jade Atchison gave chase throughout in Disturbed-B, finishing second with a 42.265. The battle for third came down to a margin of just 0.113 seconds, with Jayden Myers taking it in Fired Up at 42.378 to edge Atchison for the final podium spot.

Kennards Hire Park and the Temora crowd sent the 2025/2026 season out in style. Lake Centenary has earned its place as one of the championship's most iconic venues, and a day of full-noise V8 jet power in ideal conditions, capped by one family's clean sweep of all three classes, gave it another chapter worth remembering.
