Seven New Zealand paddle sport athletes will compete at the ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Montreal this July, with the selected squad drawn from clubs across the North Island.
Aimee Fisher of Hawkes Bay Kayak Racing Club leads the contingent, joined by four paddlers from North Shore Canoe Club: James Scott, Kacey Ngataki, Kaiha Gilbertson, and Kalani Gilbertson. Quaid Thompson of Poverty Bay Kayak Club and Scott Martlew from Arawa Canoe Club complete the seven-strong group.
Scheduled for 9–12 July at the Olympic Basin in Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montréal, Québec, the venue is regarded as one of North America's premier paddle racing facilities. New Zealand's sprint paddlers will face elite international fields across multiple boat classes and distances throughout the competition.
