Edition 13 of the Notices to Mariners, published by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) on 26 June 2026, covers a broad sweep of chart corrections and navigational updates applicable to New Zealand waters.
The edition's key changes include newly issued and updated nautical chart editions for selected coastal areas around the country, alongside harbour and approach chart corrections aimed at improving navigational accuracy. Positions and characteristics for a number of navigation aids have been revised, and amendments to charted depths, seabed features, and underwater obstructions have been incorporated wherever fresh hydrographic data has become available.
Maritime infrastructure is also addressed, with revisions to wharves, moorings, and other charted features. Temporary and Preliminary Notices have been updated to reflect current works, active hazards, and operational changes along the New Zealand coast. Electronic Navigational Chart (ENC) updates have been issued in parallel to keep digital chart data consistent with the latest corrections.
Mariners are advised to verify that both their paper and electronic charts are fully current before departing, with particular attention given to ports, harbour entrances, and coastal areas where conditions change frequently.
