Nimbus Sport Coupé 35 brings enclosed saloon to shared hull platform

3 min read

Nimbus’s new Sport Coupé 35 combines an enclosed saloon and two cabins with adaptable decks for dining, swimming and fishing.

The Swedish builder revealed the Sport Coupé 35 on 7 October*, with its world premiere scheduled for 2027 boot Düsseldorf.

The new model shares its hull with the Sport Tender 35, which debuted at Cannes in September 2026. The Coupé adds an enclosed saloon while retaining outdoor spaces that change between practical deck work, dining and lounging.

Inside the Nimbus Sport Coupé 35

Inside the saloon, you'll find the galley, and with it a dinette with a forward seating section that flips to face ahead underway, returning at anchor, to the dining arrangement. Lowering the table and rearranging the cushions creates a lounging area or extra berth. Above the saloon, sliding glass roof hatches open adding extra air flow and allowing sun to shine through.

A standard sliding glass door connects the saloon to the rear cockpit. Or, if you prefer, the sliding door can be replaced with a folding glass door, and the electrically lowered window open the two areas more fully.

Outdoor space aboard the Nimbus Sport Coupé 35

The forward cabin sits below the deck as well as a mid cabin and a head with shower. Nimbus describes a wider forward double berth with wardrobes. Opening ports and a large foredeck hatch provide ventilation.

Forward, removing the cushions leaves a working deck for boarding and handling ropes. With cushions fitted, it becomes a sunbathing area. Raise the table and there is dining space for up to eight.

Aft, an L-shaped sofa provides seating around the cockpit table for up to six. The backrest folds down flat to create a sunbed. For fishing, the sofa seat lifts to make standing room at the stern. Fish preparation surfaces are built in. An optional fishing rack provides hip support.

Keeping up with modern design trends, the Coupé has a folding side balcony to provide access to the water at anchor.

The cockpit canopy stows neatly when not needed. Its side panels fold into fabric covers beside the door posts, and the rear panel folds into the roof. When the weather changes, the panels unfold to shelter the cockpit from wind and rain.

Access from either side

Nimbus’s Sidewalk layout gives a wider side deck to starboard, connecting the cockpit and bow. A sliding door beside the helm opens directly onto it. A separate gate in the hull side makes stepping aboard from a pontoon easier.

The raised port deck contributes space to the saloon and headroom towards the mid cabin. Built in steps provide another route forward.

Outside, the forward raked windscreen follows the styling introduced on the larger 495 Coupé. Fixed roof glazing brings daylight beneath the cockpit roof extension.

Nimbus also offers joystick docking. Its launch material describes Mercury Joystick Piloting with an integrated bow thruster. Availability needs checking against the selected propulsion package.

Engine choices and performance

Owners can choose a single Mercury V10, twin 300hp Mercury V8 outboards or a Volvo Penta D6 inboard. The announcement does not specify the D6’s output.

The inboard version provides a larger bathing platform, storage within the platform and a locker beneath an extended sunbed.

The twin stepped hull uses vacuum infused construction with a Divinycell foam core. Nimbus describes it as air lubricated, claiming easy planing, less spray and reduced slamming.

Nimbus reports that the Sport Tender 35 reached 48.5 knots in Mercury Marine trials in August, powered by twin 300hp Verado V8 outboards. The Sport Coupé 35 shares its hull, but Nimbus has yet to confirm the enclosed model’s top speed.

Nimbus says full specifications will follow at the January premiere.
