A new digital resource for offshore sailors is now live, with World Sailing launching its Offshore Hub inside the World Sailing Academy platform.
The Hub delivers directly on a commitment made in Navigating Offshore, World Sailing's plan to support the discipline from 2025 to 2028. The central idea is straightforward: pull the most critical offshore racing information into one place, rather than leaving sailors and organisers to track it down across multiple sources.
Race readiness is the Hub's main focus. It brings together links to the Offshore Special Regulations, Certificates of Plan Review, and keel inspection guidance, alongside advice on environmental and security considerations including marine megafauna interactions and piracy guidance. Requirements for Personal Survival and First Aid certification are also covered.
The platform also connects users to major offshore classes and rating systems, and introduces a new Offshore Event Calendar giving a global view of upcoming competitions for both teams and organisers.
Matt Allen, Chair of the Oceanic & Offshore Committee, described the launch as "a pivotal step in our commitment to the offshore community." By actioning the tactics identified in Navigating Offshore, he said, "we are removing barriers to entry and ensuring that every sailor, from amateur adventurers to elite professionals, has the safety and technical information they need at their fingertips. This hub isn't just a library; it's a toolkit for safer, more competitive racing."
