Lowrance users have plenty to celebrate this month, with a substantial new software release lifting performance across sonar, trolling motor control, and onboard integration, all without spending a cent on new equipment.
Live sonar users running ActiveTarget® will notice the improvements straight away. Resolution has been sharpened, fresh colour palettes added, and a new split-screen option introduced alongside a Reverse Range feature designed to help anglers track fish and lures with greater accuracy. A reworked Depth Offset setting now extends the view all the way to the water's surface, so you can follow a lure from the moment it hits the water right through to the strike.
Owners of Ghost® X, Ghost, or Recon™ trolling motors pairing their motor with an HDS® PRO display gain three new control features. Depth Routing keeps the vessel within a user-selected depth band automatically, Anchor Orbit holds position by circling a chosen spot at a steady pace, and Anchor at a Distance allows you to lock onto a target location from further away, which is particularly useful when targeting fish in shallow water without pushing close enough to spook them.
Lowrance's Depth Routing feature automatically plots and updates a safe course within a user-defined depth range. In the quick tip video, viewers learn how to open and activate the tool, set minimum and maximum depths, and follow routes that adjust in real time. The walkthrough also explains the meaning of yellow direction lines, how to reverse a route, and the importance of keeping charts active for uninterrupted navigation. Designed for Ghost® and Recon™ trolling motor users, it helps avoid shallow hazards while keeping the boat in prime fishing depths longer.
Lowrance's Anchor Orbit feature lets Recon™ trolling motors automatically circle a waypoint at a set distance, clockwise or counterclockwise, so anglers can focus on fishing. The quick tip video shows how to pick a waypoint, choose orbit direction and range, and use autopilot with cruise control for precise, hands-free boat positioning.
Lowrance's Anchor at a Distance feature lets Recon™ trolling motors automatically drive to and hold position on a selected waypoint or cursor location, keeping you locked on a spot without spooking fish.
The update also broadens Lowrance's compatibility with third-party marine technology. Power-Pole® shallow water anchors can now be controlled through either NMEA 2000® or Bluetooth®, with support extending to the One Pump System and CHARGE battery integration. MOVE™ trolling motors and Yak Power® systems join the network as well, widening the ecosystem of connected devices that work alongside Lowrance displays.
Beyond those headline additions, the release delivers a range of under-the-hood refinements. Heave Compensation arrives for the S3100H, and Bob's Machine Shop Jack Plate monitoring is now supported. Elite FS units benefit from increased SideScan range and reduced interference, while sonar performance has been improved for AIRMAR® Medium Chirp transducers along with new ultra-wide transducer support. SiriusXM® interface adjustments and Flex 19 touch commands for HDS® PRO round out the changes.
