Four days of intensive searching by sea, air, and along the shoreline have drawn to a close in the hunt for a missing fisherman from Pataua South, with authorities scaling back the operation while committing to ongoing daily checks along the coast.
Police have thanked the wider community for its support throughout the search. Shoreline patrols will continue on a daily basis.
The public is urged to report anything unusual spotted in the water to police.
