Leopard brings six catamarans to Cannes 2026

4 min read

Leopard Catamarans will showcase six models at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival, featuring the world premiere of the Leopard 43 alongside the 46 and 52 sailing cats at Port Canto. The display includes a 40, 46, and 53 Powercat lineup at Vieux Port, highlighting recent design updates and industry accolades.

Leopard Catamarans is bringing six boats to the Cannes Yachting Festival, with three sailing cats at Port Canto and three Powercats at Vieux Port from 8 to 13 September 2026.

There is a world premiere in the mix too. The new Leopard 43 will be shown publicly for the first time, joining the Leopard 46 and Leopard 52 on the sailing side of the show.

Over at Vieux Port, Leopard will have the 40 Powercat, 46 Powercat and 53 Powercat.

It is a sizeable showing from one builder, stretching from the 12.19 metre Leopard 40 Powercat through to the 16.19 metre Leopard 53 Powercat. More importantly, it puts all of Leopard’s current sail and power ranges at the same event.

Leopard sailing cats at Port Canto

The new Leopard 43 may be making its debut, but it is one of three Leopard sailing cats heading to Cannes.

At 12.98 metres overall, the 43 replaces the Leopard 42. Leopard has given it wave piercing hulls, reverse bows and a taller rig, with 12 per cent more upwind sail area than its predecessor. The changes continue inside. More glass surrounds the saloon, while a wide sliding glass companionway connects it with the aft cockpit. The familiar forward cockpit remains, with additional seating. There is also capacity for up to 1,365 W of solar panels integrated into the coachroof.

Alongside the 43 will be the Leopard 46, measuring 13.90 metres overall. The 46 carries Leopard’s forward cockpit arrangement and has direct access between the aft cockpit, saloon and forward cockpit. It is a layout intended to make moving through the boat easier without heading around the side decks every time.

The Leopard 52 completes the sailing trio. At 15.40 metres, it is the largest sailing Leopard appearing at Cannes. It also arrives with a recent trophy behind it, having won the Sail 45 to 55 foot category in the 2026 Multihull of the Year awards.

Put the three together and there is quite a spread. The 43 is the new arrival, the 46 sits in the middle, and the 52 shows what Leopard is doing at the larger end of its sailing range.

Three Powercats at Vieux Port

The power side starts with the Leopard 40 Powercat. At 12.19 metres overall, it is the smallest Leopard attending Cannes this year. It is a purpose designed power cat rather than a sailing cat converted for motor cruising, and uses the extra space available without a sailing rig for its flybridge and accommodation.

The Leopard 46 Powercat steps things up to 14.13 metres. One interesting comparison at Cannes will be between the two Leopard 46s. They are different boats built around different forms of cruising, but their similar overall length gives visitors considering sail or power two Leopards of roughly comparable size to walk through.

The largest boat in Leopard’s display will be the 53 Powercat at 16.19 metres. The 53 sits at the top of the Powercat line up appearing at Cannes and brings a full flybridge, multiple outdoor living areas and the volume that comes with a beam of more than 7.6 metres.

Six boats across Cannes

There is plenty of ground between Port Canto and Vieux Port, but Leopard’s split display has a simple logic. The sailing cats are together at Port Canto and the Powercats are at Vieux Port.

The six boats also cover a fairly broad range of sizes. At one end is the 12.19 metre Leopard 40 Powercat. At the other is the 16.19 metre Leopard 53 Powercat. Between them sit the Leopard 43, both 46 models and the Leopard 52. That makes the Cannes display about more than the Leopard 43 premiere.

The new 43 is certainly the newsmaker, particularly for sailors wanting to see how Leopard has moved on from the 42.

For visitors already looking at cruising catamarans, that may be the more useful part of Leopard’s Cannes appearance. Six boats provide plenty to compare before deciding whether the answer involves sails, engines, or simply a bit more boat.
