Lowrance, widely regarded as a global leader in fishing electronics, has released a new software update for its Eagle Eye all-in-one live sonar system. The update introduces depth offset functionality and a selection of new colour palettes, building on the momentum of a recent ActiveTarget software update and extending comparable performance improvements to Eagle Eye users.
The depth offset feature tackles a longstanding practical limitation for anglers running an Eagle Eye transducer below the waterline. In that configuration, the section of the water column above the transducer has traditionally been invisible on screen. With depth offset now available in Forward mode, anglers can account for the transducer's installation depth below the water surface, bringing that previously hidden zone into view and providing a complete picture of the water column from the transducer all the way up to the surface.
Three new colour palettes also feature in this update, each crafted to sharpen target separation and boost underwater visibility. No existing palettes have been removed, though several have been renumbered to support a cleaner organisational flow.

Getting the update onto a unit is a simple process. Users download the file from lowrance.com and transfer it to a standard memory card, with a maximum capacity of 32GB, via a connected smart device or PC. The file must be placed in the root directory of the card. Backing up any important data on the unit before starting the update is strongly recommended.
Software updates must never be downloaded to mapping cards. A non-mapping memory card with sufficient available storage should be used.
