Lagoon identifies this size bracket as the "sweet spot" of its fleet, and the Lagoon 47 has been built around that thinking. Development drew on lessons refined across recent models, notably the Lagoon 38 and Lagoon 43, with the goal of striking a meaningful balance between practical dimensions, genuine offshore capability, and expanded living space. Rather than choosing between comfort and performance, the brief called for both.
The hull form has been refined with responsive sailing characteristics in mind, while the generous interior volume and panoramic outlook that have long defined the brand remain as central as ever. Lagoon says neither quality has been sacrificed in the process.
Sustainability is a growing part of the Lagoon programme, and the Lagoon 47 reflects that commitment. Bio-sourced resins are expected to feature in its construction, along with components reinforced with natural fibres including hemp. These measures sit within the company's broader environmental strategy, being introduced progressively across its 2025 to 2026 model updates.
Interior and cockpit arrangements have been designed with the relationship between inside and outside space firmly in mind. Lagoon describes the layout as creating a continuous flow between the saloon and cockpit, easing the transition between sheltered comfort and open-air living. There are good reasons why the 45 to 50 foot range has long been considered close to the ideal for serious offshore cruising.
