The kMax Battery from ePropulsion Americas has taken out Best of Show honours in the Energy Category at the 2026 ICAST New Product Showcase, one of the more closely watched product competitions in the recreational fishing trade.

The award was presented during the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST), the largest annual trade show in the recreational fishing industry. Best of Category winners are selected by a panel of media and retail buyers evaluating new products introduced to the market that year.

The kMax Battery is designed for kayak anglers and small watercraft, delivering 48V output in a package weighing 24.3 pounds with 1,024Wh of capacity. The chemistry is lithium iron phosphate (LiFePOâ‚„), and the modular, stackable design allows additional batteries to be connected to extend available power for longer days on the water.
The battery is the power source for ePropulsion's new kMax electric propulsion platform. A built-in battery management system monitors health and performance continuously, with battery status, diagnostics, and software updates all accessible through the ePropulsion mobile app.
"The kMax Battery represents our commitment to developing practical innovations that make electric boating more capable, reliable and accessible," said Tom Watson, president of ePropulsion Americas. "Receiving ICAST's Best of Show recognition is an honour because it reflects the confidence of the fishing industry in our technology. Whether anglers are making long runs to their next fishing spot or spending full days on the water, the kMax delivers the intelligent, dependable power they need."
