Lukas Walton-Keim sits inside the top 20 after two days of racing at the 2026 Formula Kite European Championships in Akyaka, Türkiye.
The Auckland kitefoiler managed three top-10 finishes from five races, his best a sixth place, leaving him 19th overall as qualifying moves into its third day.
Conditions weren't easy. Akyaka Kite Beach served up 12 to 17 knots of thermal breeze that strengthened through the day, turning the racing fast and physical.
Lucy Bilger, competing in the women's fleet, is 30th overall after the same two days.
The men's fleet has been split into Yellow and Blue qualifying groups, and the racing has been tight, with start-line battles and high speeds around the course leaving almost no margin for error.
Singapore's Maximilian Maeder and Switzerland's Gian Stragiotti shared the wins on day two. Stragiotti was the standout, taking four races in the Blue fleet to draw level on points with Maeder at the top of the overall standings.
Italy's Riccardo Pianosi, the reigning European champion, sits third.
