1 min read

K-Challenge, France's challenger for the 38th America's Cup to be held in Naples, Italy in Spring/Summer 2027, is recruiting a safety diver for a full-time fixed-term position running from spring 2026 through to June 2027.

The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping and implementing the team's safety framework ahead of and throughout the campaign. A key part of the role is being aboard the assistance vessel during all on-water sailing sessions involving K-Challenge sailing vessels, providing rapid first response and medical assistance should an incident occur. Beyond that, the position carries responsibility for sourcing and maintaining all team safety equipment, developing safety training programmes for athletes and on-water staff, and establishing formal safety procedures for the campaign.

When sailing sessions are not scheduled, the safety diver will contribute to shore team operations, assisting with various maintenance tasks according to their capabilities.

K-Challenge is looking for someone with prior experience as a safety diver and a background in emergency rescue. A first aid certificate is the minimum medical qualification required. Candidates with professional sailing experience or high-speed boat-handling skills will be well regarded. Fluency in English is essential, with French and Italian considered a bonus. The team places a strong emphasis on adaptability, flexibility, and a collaborative attitude.

The role will be based in Lorient during the spring 2026 phase, before moving full-time to Naples, Italy for the remainder of the contract, with travel forming part of the position. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received, with interviews scheduled accordingly. Interested candidates should submit a CV and all relevant information, including availability, by email.
